Section 11.1 - Teaching Basic Probability Concepts

Key Points

  • Definitions As we go through the first several sections, the definitions are going to start to pile up. When we get into the second half of this chapter, there's going to be a similar gallery of formulas for calculating the areas and volumes of various shapes. To help organize this information, I'm a big fan of index cards. You can put each definition or formula on the front of the card with an example on the back then keep them spread in front of you when you're studying as a quick reference. The more you study, the less you'll find that you need the cards as you internalize all of the information. Creating the cards is also a good addition to your (or your students) over all studying program.
