At White Crane Education we believe that to be a part of a community, you can't just profit from it. You have to contribute to it.

Our classrooms section has a variety of free classrooms for use by students and their teachers. Our Short Courses are quick reviews of material that you'll find in other classes such as using linear equations and working with rational expressions. They contain multiple examples and lists of steps for common procedures and have our signature dynamic practice areas that generate an almost unlimited number of practice questions along with their complete solutions. The classes in the Supplemental Curriculum take students through material not normally convered in a middle school or high school curriculum through a series of lectures that include real world applications and interactive applets.

Teaching Algebra 1	This classroom is the online version of the teaching guide for our core algebra one textbook, Essential Algebra 1. It contains all of the teaching suggestions in the textbook but does not include the exercise solutions. We made a conscious decision not to include those on the public web site because some parents may not want their students to have access to a complete solutions set.
Teaching Geometry	This classroom is the online version of the teaching guide for our core geometry textbook, Essential Geometry. It contains all of the teaching suggestions in the textbook but does not include the exercise solutions. We made a conscious decision not to include those on the public web site because some parents may not want their students to have access to a complete solutions set.

General Mathematics	This short course covers general topics from introductory mathematics and arithmetic such as fractions and percentages.
Linear Equations	Linear equations are an important part of every algebra class. Not only do they illustrate many basic algebra principles but they're a basic tool in mathematical modeling. They can be used to describe everything from the motion of cars to the cost of manufacturing processes.
Polynomials	Polynomials are one of the building blocks of engineering. They can be used to model everything from the behavior of falling objects to complex dynamic systems. Our short course covers classification, addition and subtraction, multiplication, factoring and solving equations including the Quadratic Equation.
Rational Expressions	Rational expressions are just fractions where the numerator and denominator are polynomials, i.e. they have variables rather than just numbers. That may sound simple enough but, when you start trying to work with them, they can turn out to be quite tricky. Not because the concepts are difficult but because there are a lot of calculations involving multiple polynomials that can quickly become very messy. This short course takes you, step by step, through all of the basic procedures you need to know to work with these objects.

Graph Theory	Let's say you have a collection of items. What sort of items you ask? The items can be anything. They could be as concrete as a group of students in a classroom or as abstract as the atoms in a complicated molecule. They can be close to home like the intersections in your neighbourhood or as far flung as individual computers connected to the Internet. Some of these items will have connections between them and others won't. Kids in a classroom are connected by their friendships. Atoms are connected by chemical bonds. Intersections are connected by roads. Computers are connected by phone lines. In each example some items were connected and others weren't. Graph theory is the study of these connections.
Number Theory	Number Theory, part of our Algebra 1 curriculum, studies the positive integers, i.e. the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, ... What sounds like a really simple basis for a full branch of mathematics is actually a complex and diverse subject that is at the heart of modern cryptography.
