Modeling
In our earlier discussion when we talked about finding the equation of a parabola, all of the methods we used required parabola-centric pieces of information, e.g. the location of the vertex or the directrix or the focus. In this lecture, we're going to talk about how to find a parabola's equation, i.e. a quadratic equation, based just on knowing the coordinates of points that are on it.
Video Lectures
In our previous lectures on finding the equation of a parabola, we needed specific information about the parabolas attributes. In this lecture, we're going to see how to find the equation based on just on the location of the vertex and another point on the parabola's graph.
In this lecture, we''re going to take look at the most general case where we need to find the equation of a parabola, i.e. a quadratic equation, based just on the location of three points that are on the graph.
